on september 24, the exhibition stepanova – 130 will open on the second floor of the zotov center as part of the international biennale of graphic design golden bee 16 / the exhibition presents 17 posters by graphic artists from seven countries – russia, belarus, kyrgyzstan, hungary, switzerland, portugal and mexico. at its core is a constructor of elements, each of which refers to the iconic projects of varvara stepanova and creates a recognizable image of the russian avant-garde.
the second exhibition at the peresvetov pereulok gallery was showcasing the work of the 75 selected graphic designers inspired by the life and work of artist varvara stepanova / october 1 to 27, 2024
varvara fyodorovna stepanova (1894–1958) was a russian artist. with her husband alexander rodchenko, she was associated with the constructivist branch of the russian avant-garde, which rejected aesthetic values in favour of revolutionary ones. her activities extended into propaganda, poetry, stage scenery and textile design.
