colour is the fundamental and dominant element of essence, the source of experimentation in art and design. colour as a sign in kazimir malevich’s suprematism and the ideas of ilya chashnik concerning colour and its dynamics, born within the walls of the vitebsk people’s art school (1919–1922), became the foundation for the continuation of the unovis XXI century poster competition, the movement of colour. the aim of the biennale is to explore the colour principles of the 20th-century avant-garde in shaping the language of the 21st-century poster and contemporary art through the construction, dynamics, and harmony of colour / colour and the avant-garde, dynamics and color construction, rhythm and the music of color, experimentation—these are the core concepts of the competition.
